The first free movie night of the school year will be on Wednesday at Cowley Cinema 8.
Doors will be open at 9 p.m. and movies will begin at 9:45. Any student with his or her Southwestern student ID will have free admittance.
“This will be my first free movie night appearance,” Jake Haertl, business administration junior, said. “Being able to relax and watch a movie with my friends will be great.”
The lineup for the movies that are showing this Wednesday are:
– “The Peanut Butter Falcon”
– “IT Chapter 2”
– “Angel Has Fallen”
– “Good Boys”
– “The Lion King”
Usually, the movies with the biggest crowds will be comedies and scary movies. That being said, students will want to get there early if they want to get a good seat to “Good Boys” or “IT Chapter 2”.
“I have been waiting for two long years for the “IT” sequel to come out,” Payton Bayless, communication sophomore, said. “I am just glad I have something to do in Winfield.”
Not only will “IT Chapter 2” and “Good Boys” be filled to the brim, but movies from Disney and movies with tons of action will also be prone to large crowds, so students should plan ahead for movies like “The Lion King” and “Angel Has Fallen”.
“There is nothing better than having a free movie night on a day where we do not even have school,” JC Fuentes, communication senior, said. “It is a relaxing activity that lets everyone unwind from all the stress of college.”D
