The Men’s soccer team keep the winning streak rolling after winning their second straight game at home against the Central Christian Tigers.
Junior forward, Francis Watson, was on fire last night, scoring two goals. Watson scored both of his goals in the first half with his first being within the first five minutes of the game at 41:40. He would find the goal again with 20:55 left in the first half. Ivan Canales, senior midfielder, would get himself a goal too later in the second half.
Central Christian was limited to just eight shot attempts all night, due to the Mound builder’s stifling defensive effort.
Dylan Chamberlin, sophomore goalkeeper, and Matt Temple, senior goalkeeper, just had a very boring night. It was because their teammates were either keeping their opposition away from their goal and if the Tigers did happen to get a shot off it was off the mark. Chamberlin played a total of 76 minutes and 34 seconds and did not need to make a single save. Temple played the rest of the game after that, getting himself a save.
The Tigers just seemed to struggle on both sides of the ball. Tanner Rose, sophomore goalkeeper ended the night with four saves.
The Moundbuilders are back home Sept. 25 at 8 pm against York University as they look to make it three wins in a row and start 1-0 in the conference.
