The Builders traveled to McPherson to face the Bulldogs in the KCAC game of the week. Before the game Prince Hanks, junior running back, and Israel Harper, junior linebacker, gave their opinions just before kickoff. 

We as a team feel confident,” said Hanks. 

 Coming off a strong week of practice, the Moundbuilders felt prepared for the in conference match-up.

“Practice went good, and we have been working hard so we are ready,” said Harper.

The Builders started fast, getting on the board with a touchdown pass from senior quarterback Austin Early to Edrick Gonzalez with 11:27 in the first. Early would also find Carontez Gates in the endzone, throwing two touchdown passes on the game. The Builders were led on the ground by sophomore running back Keyshawn Wyatt. Wyatt ran for 180-yards, and added three scores on the ground.

The defense was led by Grant Torgeson, Israel Harper and Travon Crockett, who all made key defensive stops. The Moundbuilder defense gave up three scores in the first half. At halftime, the Moundbuilders and Bulldogs found themselves tied, 21-21.

As the second half became a battle, big plays from the Moundbuilders consisted of Carvontez Gates, Austin Early and Keyshawn Wyatt on the offense.

The defensive side of the ball was held down by Grant Torgeson and Travon Crockett. The Moundbuilders came up short, falling 45-35 on the road to the Bulldogs.

After the game Donny Ebanks, senior wide receiver said, “I was hurt that the game didn’t go in our favor but we will come harder next week,”
