College Hill Coffee is the place to go if you are wanting a great cup of coffee. If you live on campus it is in walking distance located on 403 Soward St., Winfield, KS. I went around 12 p.m. by myself, but ended up seeing many people I knew from the college. College Hill Coffee has friendly customer service that give a warm welcome every time someone comes into the shop.
The coffee shop was formerly a house that is now converted into the thriving coffee shop it is today. This contributes to its home like atmosphere.
The main room in the front of the coffee shop includes a fire place and three comfortable chairs to enjoy coffee, food, and the warmth during the winter.
The coffee shop offers outdoor seating on the patio that includes two rocking chairs for deep relaxation.
College Hill Coffee host a variety of arts and performances. An exclusive artist is showcased every six weeks. The artwork is throughout the coffee shop and adds to the aesthetics of the coffee shop.
The coffee I ordered was called, MBEYA MWALYEGO AA. It is from Tanzania. The coffee was a light medium roast that is smooth and easy to drink. The flavor notes of the coffee were vanilla bean, candied almond, and prune.
The sandwich I ordered was called a Quiett Russian. It was a delicious sandwich that had dark rye bread thousand island dressing, Swiss cheese, ham, turkey, bacon, and came with cucumber, tomato and a hard boiled egg. It was a great balance of crispy, juicy, and sweet all mixed together.
I would recommend College Hill Coffee to anyone looking for a good place to go enjoy coffee, food, and place to enjoy company or even find some time alone. I would give this coffee shop a five out of five for its great coffee, food, ambience and customer service.
