The woman’s basketball team lost 82-79 against Baker University in a close game.

In the first half the ladies started out strong but Baker still took the lead. The ladies made sure not fall far behind with good defense. The score at half time was 39-27 with Baker University in the lead.

In the second half the ladies looked determined to catch up. In the last 10 minutes they brought the score to 65-50. The real action took place in the last 5 minutes.

In the last 3 minutes of the game the ladies fought to even the score. The team brought the score to 80-79 and fouled sending Baker to the line with 3.8 seconds remaining. Making both free throws Baker brought the final score to 82-79, the Lady Builders first loss of the season.

Southwestern will play again at 5:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 7 against John Brown at College of the Ozarks.
