The spring semester’s first free movie night is upon us.

This Wednesday, Cowley Cinema 8 will offer a fresh batch of movies for the SC faithful to feast their eyes on. They include:

  • “Gretel and Hansel”
  • “The Rhythm Section”
  • “The Gentlemen”
  • “Bad Boys for Life”
  • “Doolittle”
  • “1917”
  • “Underwater”
  • “Jumanji: The Next Level”

“I know that January is not the best month for movies,” Paul Fiorentino, biology sophomore, said. “But I always go regardless because I can be with my friends and enjoy a movie.”

Doors will open at 9 pm and the movies will begin showing at 9:45 pm. The men’s and women’s basketball team play directly before at 6 and 8.

“I will be in a rush to get from the game to the theater,” Morgan Graves, biology sophomore, said. “The scheduling is a little tight, but what is better for celebrating a win than going to see a movie?”

Students can only get in for free if they have their student identification, so do not forget it.

As previous free movie nights have worked, expect for “Bad Boys for Life” and “1917” to be the most crowded. “Gretel and Hansel” also has a good chance to be pretty packed, because horror movies usually receive huge crowds. Make sure to get there early.

“I look forward to this Wednesday every single month,” Bryan Yungeberg, business administration sophomore, said. “It is nice to just be able to relax and not worry about homework or sports for a couple of hours. It’s an escape.”
