STUFU will host their monthly Free Movie Night on Feb. 27 at Cowley Cinema 8. Doors will open at 9 p.m. and movies will start at 9:45 p.m. Admission is free for all Southwestern students with a student ID. Concessions will still be sold at regular prices.

“Free Movie Night is the best night of the month,” Payton Bayless, undecided freshman, said. “I love it when all of Southwestern comes together and does something we all enjoy.”

Movies to be shown include:

  • “Fighting with My Family”
  • “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”
  • “Alita: Battle Angel”
  • “Happy Death Day 2 U”
  • “Isn’t it Romantic”
  • “LEGO Movie 2”
  • “Cold Pursuit”
  • “The Upside”

“I am pumped for Free Movie Night,” Morgan Graves, biology freshman, said. “The best part is eating tubs of buttery, salty popcorn until I am sick.”

Since Free Movie Night is usually every month, it was strange to see STUFU not host a free movie night in January. Nevertheless, the lineup of movies for this month range from nonstop action thrillers to lighthearted, hilarious comedies. The popular movies tend to be horror movies, so expect “Happy Death Day 2 U,” to be jam-packed with students. As is the case with most of the movies, get there early to get the best seat.

“Free Movie Night is an escape,” Taylor Crawford, biology junior, said. “Who wouldn’t want to go out and relax and get away from the work we do every week?”
