Jess Maddox, a junior return specialist, was the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for Sept. 14 to 20.

Maddox scored the only touchdown during the Builder football team’s 45-7 loss to Friends University Sept. 19, running a kickoff 86 yards to the endzone in the first quarter. Maddox had four punt returns for a total of 31 yards and four kickoff returns for a total of 189 yards during the game.

Southwestern is now 0-3 in the KCAC.
