The 2018 Moundbuilder Spring Classic was held on Monday and Tuesday at Quail Ridge Golf Course. Amid the cold and wind, Builder golfers braved the weather and came out successful.
The three top finishers on the women’s side were Builders. Abby Bertholf, biochemistry sophomore, led the team with a 36-hole total score of 171. Peyton Timmerman, English senior, came up second with a score of 174, and Lauren Sieh, communication freshman, placed third at 186.
“I think it’s fair to say that scoring was very hard,” said Reid Green, religion and philosophy sophomore. “The conditions were tough. The fact we could come away with a team win just shows that we were able to keep our heads down and just keep hitting one shot at a time.”
The women’s team ended the tournament with a 36-hole score of 736, finishing first as a team.
