Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a regular senate meeting on Tuesday, March 6, at 8 p.m. in Pounds Lounge. The meeting brought three voting opportunities to senators – organizational budget requests, Masterbuilder and grants.

“Over the course of the past few weeks, we have had very productive meetings,” said Emily Jones, SGA president. “These meetings have included voting on various grants, approving the budgets of organizations and discussing our upcoming towne hall with Residence Life.”

The student organizations It’s On Us and Hammocking Club presented requests for additional funding from SGA, as their initial requests were tabled at the Feb. 20 meeting. Vice President Castor announced that SGA senate and executive application packets are now available in the Campus Life office and are due on March 27 by 5 p.m. President Jones announced that student organizations are now authorized to purchase non-Fresh Ideas food for meetings, though using Fresh Ideas for events is still expected.

On Tuesday, March 13, SGA will host a towne hall featuring Residence Life in Stir & Bustle. Snacks will be provided through Fresh Ideas, and the first 10 students to attend will receive a “goody” bag from Residence Life. Any students with residential concerns are welcome to attend.
