The Lady Moundbuilders fell to the Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan 62-45 in Bartlesville, Okla. on Saturday afternoon at the Mueller Sports Center.

The Builders (2-11, 1-6 KCAC) have struggled to find a rhythm all season and this contest versus the Eagles proved no different.

Senior forward Jordyn Miller led all scorers on the night with 25 points good for 55 percent of the offensive production on the Lady Builders’ behalf. That explosive burst in scoring was not enough to propel a struggling SC team past OKWU, who now sit comfortably at 10-5 overall on the season.

Miller’s impressive performance also consisted of 11 rebounds, good enough for her third total double-double in 2017.

Despite outshooting the Eagles from the charity strike, OKWU ultimately ran away from SC converting on 39.4 percent of their field goals compared to the Lady Builder’s 26.8 percent. A 27-20 scoring advantage in the second half and 12 more rebounds for the Eagles became the difference in this contest between two conference foes.

Southwestern looks to avenge their loss in a contest against Saint Mary on Tuesday night, Dec. 12 at historic Stewart Fieldhouse.
