Southwestern cross country will be traveling to Illinois this weekend to try and make their mark at the 2016 NAIA Cross Country Championships.
Jersey Boydstun, sports marketing junior, will be participating for the men as he qualified for a national bid at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference meet. At the KCAC meet he placed eighth with a time of 26:13.7.
Justine Vogele, sports medicine sophomore, and Ashley Smith, psychology junior, will be representing the women at Nationals. Combined the two women helped the women’s cross country team place fourth at the KCAC meet. Vogele finished the race in 19:12.2 and Smith took the final qualifying spot by finishing ninth in 19:26.0.
