Southwestern College was visited by Tabor on Saturday, October 8th for the annual homecoming game. The Builders’ five-year homecoming win streak came to an end as they come to a stunning loss of 14 Builders, and 42 Bluejays. Tabor made the first touch down with only 11:23 minuets left in the first quarter. They then added another touch down 5 minutes later to make the score 0-14. The Bluejays made another shocking score right after the first quarter to make the score 0-21. Donny Ebanks, sophomore wide receiver, made the first touchdown for the Builders in the second quarter of the game to make the score 7-21. The Bluejays scored two more touch downs in the third quarter of the game making the score 7-35. The Builders made their final touchdown early in the fourth quarter when Christian Gordon, sophomore quarterback, passed the ball to Ebanks once more to make the score 14-35. The final score of the game was made by the Tabor Bluejays with 3 minutes to spare making the final score of 14-35. Homecoming nominees were announced during half time after the Spirit Squad’s performance. The ladies to be nominated were Allie Flinn, Allie Woods, Jenn Myers, Abby Warnke, and Kayla Demel. The gentlemen to be nominated were Vaughn VanDame, Myron Fisher, Matthew Custard, Jacob Sigmon, Craig Lantz. Congratulations to the winners of the homecoming court, Allie Flinn and Matthew Custard.
