Golf earns second in KCAC tournament

The Southwestern College Men’s golf team earned a second place finish at the KCAC Regular Season Tournament on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament was played at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course in Springhill, Kan.

Brian Peck, junior, finished in fourth place overall and led the Builders shooting a tournament score of 228. Seth Bryan, senior, followed just two strokes and two places behind with a 230 and sixth place. Justin Churchill, senior, followed suit grabbing eight place and shoot 232.

Kyle Karpe, senior, and Steven Venn, senior, rounded out Southwestern’s scores with a 239 and 256 respectively.

As a team the Builders received second place with a team score of 929. Oklahoma Wesleyan was the only team to shoot better than Southwestern with a 916.

The next tournament for the Builders is Monday, March 28, and Tuesday, March 29. Southwestern hosts the South Central Kansas Spring Invitational at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Winfield.
