Golf competes in weather-shortened tournament

Men’s golf competed in the NAIA Contender Monday and Tuesday afternoons at TPC Las Colinas course in Irving, Texas.

Due to weather the tournament was reduced to eighteen holes and scores were only used from the first round of play.

As a team the Builder finished with a score of 308 which is 24 over par. Southwestern was tied for ninth with Sterling College.

Individually Brian Peck, junior, shot the best for the team and sunk a hole in one. His total score on the course was three below par with a 68 earning him fifth in the tournament. His hole in one occurred on hole 13, a par three.

Justin Churchill, senior, came in second place for the team with a +8 and Seth Bryan, senior, was one stroke behind him with a +9.

Troy Fort, sophomore, and Jonah Pfingsten, junior, rounded out the team with a +10 and +15 respectively.

The team has a couple weeks before competing again on March 21 and 22 at Sycamore Ridge golf course in Spring Hill, Kan.
