Tallying the third win of the season, Builder football went all out for Saturday’s senior day game against the Saint Mary Spires.

The game was scoreless until early in the second quarter when Southwestern scored the first of four consecutive touchdowns.

Climbing from 7 to 14 to 21 to 28, the Builders managed to hold off the Spires until the fourth quarter. The Spires saw their first and only touchdown of the game just a few minutes into the fourth quarter.

The Builders collected their final points with a 51-yard field goal by Mario Esparza within the last two minutes of the game. The field goal brought the final score to 31-7 with Southwestern in the lead.

With just one game left, the Builders sit with a record of 3-7 in the season and 3-5 in KCAC play.

To conclude the season, the Builders will take on the Sterling Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Sterling College.
